What sets WalkWise apart?

One of the best ways to prevent falls is by using a walking aid like a walker. Falls are the leading cause of fatal injury and the most common cause of nonfatal trauma-related hospital admissions among older adults. WalkWise helps prevent hospital readmission by notifying you if the walker isn’t being used and prevents skilled nursing admissions by keeping them safe at home.
Excessive bathroom use can be one symptom of a urinary tract infection. WalkWise estimates the number of times they get out of bed at night, so you can catch potential issues before they result in hospitalization.
With WalkWise, families and providers can help keep participants more engaged with their health and activity. The WalkWise web dashboard and mobile app shows a quick snapshot of daily activity or long-term trends, providing a pathway to start meaningful conversations with participants.
WalkWise is the only way to track fitness for walker users. Families, care providers, and physical therapists can monitor the WalkWise app to see activity trends and day-to-day progressions. Set walking goals and get a notification when reached. Participants gain the ability to track their own activity and take pride in their mobility.
Set custom notifications with the WalkWise web dashboard. WalkWise fills the gaps left by pendants and other emergency response technology because the participant does not need to remember to charge it, wear it, or push a button. The notifications are completely customizable and can be turned on or off to fit your needs. WalkWise will send a notification in case the walker tips over, has not moved for a set number of hours, did not move by a certain time in the morning, or if overall activity is low.
Why WalkWise remote monitoring works.
WalkWise is the only solution that tracks fitness for walker users.

WalkWise Testimonial
“I love the WalkWise unit as it gives me insight into what the participant is ACTUALLY doing in their home versus what they report. As you know, activity watches and step counters do not work if their hands are on the walker, thus, WalkWise has been nice in that sense.
I have 1 gal that would get a UTI, not report symptoms, and end up hospitalized and in short term rehab. I placed WalkWise on her walker fresh out of short term rehab. We noticed she averaged around 100’ of walking a day. That was only about 3 minutes of activity. It wasn’t because physically she couldn’t, it was her motivation to do so. With that feedback we implemented more CNA visits to encourage her to walk or to walk with her and PT also worked with her. She is now averaging 800-900’ of walking a day. She has since had a UTI, but she did not end up in the hospital over it and managed to not have another short term rehab stay.

Average activity level would be 1-2 thousand steps a day with most of the participants I have WalkWise on, I can get a monthly report or a weekly email. So, depending on the participants goals and my goals I will tailor the feedback.
WalkWise is FABULOUS to work with and is very quick to answer emails and questions.”
