With WalkWise, it only takes one month to get onboarded, and three months to turn pro.
Healthtech can be a headache. Alongside regulatory requirements, healthtech solutions typically require integration with existing systems, necessitating extensive coordination between IT departments, providers, and technology vendors. Then, most tools require intensive training, which can be very time-consuming and a burden for already overworked staff.
Here’s the good news: WalkWise is an outlier. We offer a rapid and lightweight onboarding experience, enabling you to focus on what truly matters: providing the best care for your patients.
Let’s walk you through how easy it is to fully onboard our passive remote monitoring tech.
How We Avoid the Usual Healthtech Headaches
No IT Burden
You’ve probably encountered lots of healthcare tools that require deep integration with your EHR (electronic health record) – and seen the look on your IT team’s face when you make this request. Even if it isn’t the EHR, any internal system is usually a complex and fragile thing where integrations require hours of careful work.
But with WalkWise? We don’t even need access to your WiFi network! With our devices, everything is done using the cellular network.
The deepest access we need… is your email inbox! And you conduct everything through a web browser.
No Complex Installation
Just the word “installation” is enough to strike fear into a provider’s heart.
Our setup process is so lightweight that it requires zero expertise. There’s nothing permanent or complex about it. Attaching our devices to mobility aids is so easy that, sometimes, seniors do it themselves without any help.
The existing mobility aids continue to be used, exactly the same. Our device simply straps on without interrupting anything. No tools required. Just plug in the communication node and wait for it to connect.
No Patient Training Required
Most healthtech comes with training. Sometimes, an awful lot of training.
Even a simple device like a blood pressure cuff requires some physical guidance.
With WalkWise devices, the patient doesn’t require any training at all. There are no tablets, no new software. There’s nothing the patient needs to remember to wear or change. The device straps on, and as far as the patient is concerned, everything is up and running.
No training – up and running in minutes.
Limited Change Management
Most teams are already overworked and understaffed. The last thing they need is to manage significant changes to established workflows.
The WalkWise system is powerful, but requires minimal oversight. You can get a ton of value from WalkWise simply by reviewing the reports that we send you, or just focusing on the notifications you care about.
We slot in to help you prioritize care and work smarter, enabling you to focus on what matters most.
From Zero to Onboarded
So what does the full WalkWise onboarding process look like? Once the necessary IT security assessment and legal review are complete, and the contract is signed, the onboarding can begin…
- ASAP, we have a 15/20-minute “next steps” meeting. Here, we answer any questions, confirm the deployment size, chat about who’s going to be our main point of contact (our WalkWise Champion), how the accounts receivable are operated – these sorts of basic things.
- Once we settle on a date for the onboarding meeting, get your device kits shipped to you. Immediately afterwards, we get the device kits in the mail.
- Once you receive your devices, we have a 45-minute onboarding meeting. This meeting is with the staff on the ground who are going to be around the devices and benefitting from the data. We talk you through getting the device onto the patients’ mobility aids – whether that’s by zip-tie, or twist-tie, or whatever is easiest for you – and show you how to start getting the most out of the new data.
- (Typically, one meeting suffices, though we can do as many as required to work around the schedules of the different groups: PTs, nurses, etc.)
- Once the device has been attached, all you need to do is assign a patient’s name and a wheel diameter to the device within the browser interface.
- You plug in your communication nodes, and immediately the devices start collecting their data; you’re off to the races.
At this point, you are onboarded! And from here, it’s mostly passive. You reap the benefits of your WalkWise data with ease: checking the dashboard, making decisions based on the data, reviewing notifications, and so on.
- As standard, you will start receiving our basic, most popular notifications – on excessing nighttime activity and tipovers. You will also receive data on overall declines in mobility over time.
- It usually takes a month to get all the devices on all the mobility aids – and we have a really juicy batch of data to work with. At this point, we work with you to help you understand how to make the most of this data and how to use the system to its fullest potential.
- From here on out, we do monthly meetings of around 15 to 30 minutes – and we’re always here to help outside these windows!
- After around three months, we typically see people have graduated to being capable WalkWise users – they are making powerful data-driven decisions and caring better for their patients.
And throughout this process, you have a dedicated customer support representative to offer you any help you need. No chatbots, no getting stuck on hold. An expert professional nurse with all the information you need at their fingertips.
